A bitter cold snap has settled over Central Alabama, and calving season is in full swing at Crooked Creek Ranch. The colder it gets, the more newborn calves seem to arrive—happy, healthy, and completed unfazed by the winter weather.

There she is! The most beautiful momma I think I have ever laid eyes on (sorry, Mom)! She was just looking at me and my husband curiously in all her beautiful, golden hour, backlit glory. I had to capture this moment so we can remember my favorite red baldy for forever. Happy trails to you!
